Rclone
Personal Obsidian and Google Drive synchronization.
This private integration, operated by Justin Crawford, uses open-source rclone in Docker on TrueNAS to keep a selected Obsidian vault in sync with a designated Google Drive folder. It is for the owner's personal use and does not offer public sign-ups.
Why Google access is needed
With the owner's permission, Rclone compares file contents and metadata, transfers changes in both directions, and keeps conflict copies and recovery backups. Drive files can then be accessed by tools the owner separately authorizes. The integration does not request Gmail, calendar, or contact access.
Google permissions may allow broader Drive access than the configured sync folder. The public website does not receive Google tokens or vault contents. This deployment is independent of Google and the upstream rclone project.
