Privacy Policy

Information we collect and why

When you visit the website, our hosting providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details, requested pages, and request times to deliver the site, protect it from abuse, and diagnose problems. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Pages that load Google Fonts also send normal web requests to Google to retrieve those fonts.

If you sign up for honey availability updates, we collect your email address, your name if you provide it, and the honey story associated with your request. We use that information to maintain your subscription and communicate about honey availability. If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond.

The static landing page does not include advertising trackers. Linked applications and third-party services may use cookies or other storage for their own features; their notices and settings apply to those services.

Google Drive and personal synchronization

Rclone is a private, owner-operated integration that synchronizes a selected Obsidian vault between the owner's TrueNAS storage and a designated Google Drive folder. It is not a public registration service or a Google product. This deployment uses the independent open-source rclone software.

After the account owner authorizes Google access, the integration reads file names, folder structure, file contents, sizes, modification times, and other metadata needed to compare and synchronize files. It may create, update, rename, or delete files to reflect changes between the selected locations. It also keeps synchronization history, operational logs, conflict copies, and backups for reliability and recovery.

The Google Drive permission may technically allow access to files across the authorized account. The deployment is configured to operate within the selected folder hierarchy; that configuration does not narrow the underlying Google permission. The integration does not request access to Gmail, contacts, or calendars.

Google OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in the owner's private rclone configuration on TrueNAS. They are used to authenticate and refresh the Google connection. The public website does not receive those tokens or publish the vault's contents.

Sharing and AI tools

We do not sell personal information or Google user data, use Google user data for advertising, or use it to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Information is processed by the providers needed to deliver the feature you choose, including Cloudflare for website hosting and Google for authorized Drive storage. The personal sync copies selected files between Google Drive and the owner's storage. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or necessary to protect the services against abuse.

The owner may separately connect an AI assistant or another tool to the designated Drive folder for personal assistance. Rclone does not automatically grant those tools access or send vault contents to an AI provider. Any separate connection requires its own authorization and is governed by that provider's privacy policy and the owner's access settings. The owner should grant access only to information they intend that tool to use.

Our use and transfer of information received through Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Storage, security, and retention

We use HTTPS for the public website and Google API connections. The personal sync deployment restricts access to its credential configuration and keeps synchronization state and recovery backups outside the shared vault. Operational logs may contain file names, paths, timestamps, sizes, and error details. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Subscription information is retained while needed to maintain the subscription and respond to requests. Technical records are retained according to the relevant provider's settings and operational needs. Synchronized files, conflict copies, and backups remain in the owner's storage or Google Drive until the owner removes them; deleting a live file does not necessarily delete its backup. Google tokens remain until revoked or removed. Information may be retained longer when required by law.

Your choices and requests

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you provided to Gentle Bee Apiary, or ask to stop honey updates, by emailing bikerhiker10@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. Rights may vary with your location.

The owner can stop synchronization at any time and revoke the Google connection through Google Account connections. Revocation stops future authorized access but does not remove files or backups already copied. Those copies must be deleted separately from Google Drive, TrueNAS, and any independently authorized tools.

Children and policy changes

These services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

We may update this policy as the services change and will revise the effective date above. Material changes to Google data use will be disclosed before the changed use begins, with renewed consent where required.
